UGA Chamber Choir Tour

The Chamber Choir at Oxford
Chamber Choir Tour of England and Scotland
June 6 - June 16, 2005
In June of 2005 the UGA Chamber Choir ventured to the United Kingdom for two weeks of concerts,
masterclasses and the Dornoch Choral Festival in Dornoch , Scotland . Starting in London , we made a
trip to Oxford to sing in the chapels of Christchurch and Keble Colleges . Moving north, we spent a day
in York , where we sang in the York Minster and had a masterclass with British composer Andrew Carter
before heading on into Scotland . The choir then spent two days in scenic Dornoch, where we sang as
part of the Dornoch Choral Festival with Simon Carrington in the 14th Century Dornoch Cathedral. We
also had a chance to sing in the cathedral service and take a masterclass with Simon Carrington. From
Dornoch we proceeded to Stirling , where we sang a concert in St. Columba's Church. Our final event was
singing in historic and acoustically stunning Paisley Abbey.
